Un grupo de 221 jóvenes venezolanos cruzó el fin de semana la frontera con Colombia para realizar una prueba estatal luego de que autoridades regionales de ambos países llegaran a un acuerdo para habilitar un corredor humanitario que les permitiera cumplir con las Pruebas Saber, informaron hoy las autoridades.
«Hace bastante tiempo que no pasaba por el puente (que separa Venezuela y Colombia), esta vez resultó bastante cómodo para mí porque no tuve que pasar ilegalmente», expresó María José Osorio, una de las beneficiarias, citada en un comunicado de la Alcaldía de la ciudad colombiana de Cúcuta, reseñó EFE.
Agregó: «Como estudiante me gustaría que los dos Gobiernos se pusieran de acuerdo para que sigan pensando en la comunidad de los estudiantes que tienen que pasar día a día para el colegio ya que la virtualidad ha sido un poco difícil para nosotros».
Según la Alcaldía de Cúcuta, que tiene el principal paso fronterizo con Venezuela, las autoridades del departamento colombiano de Norte de Santander y del estado venezolano del Táchira acordaron el viernes pasado que los jóvenes pudiesen cruzar el fin de semana por el puente internacional Simón Bolívar.
Las Pruebas Saber 11, organizadas por el Instituto Colombiano para la Educación Superior (Icfes), constituyen un requisito para acceder a la educación universitaria en el país andino.
Segunda habilitación del corredor humanitario
Se trata de la segunda vez que se habilita el corredor humanitario, pues el año pasado las autoridades de ambos países acordaron lo mismo para realizar estas pruebas.
«Seguiremos articulando acciones con las autoridades locales de Venezuela para brindar bienestar y tranquilidad a los estudiantes y sus familias. Desde el año pasado se han logrado habilitar corredores humanitarios escolares, lo que ha demostrado que la educación es un factor de unión y prioridad para los dos países”, dijo la secretaria de Educación de Cúcuta, Jessica Ramírez.
El alcalde de esa ciudad, Jairo Yáñez, señaló por su parte que trabajan con sus pares venezolanos «para buscar consensos que nos permitan reabrir la frontera».
«El paso de los jóvenes este fin de semana de manera segura a presentar sus pruebas es una muestra de que el diálogo es importante para lograr acuerdos en materia de salud, educación y comercio. Celebro estos nuevos acercamientos y ojalá ambos Gobiernos puedan abrir este importante paso que tanto daño le ha hecho a nuestra economía», expresó.
Colombia y Venezuela no tienen relaciones diplomáticas desde el 23 de febrero de 2019 por orden del presidente Maduro, en respuesta a un intento del líder opositor Juan Guaidó de ingresar al país desde la ciudad colombiana de Cúcuta al frente de una caravana de ayuda humanitaria.
