Marcelo Gallardo anuncia que continúa como entrenador de River Plate

El entrenador Marcelo Gallardo anunció este miércoles que seguirá siendo el técnico de River Plate argentino, tras semanas de dudas sobre su continuidad al frente del club ‘millonario’.

“Tenía que pensar y decidir qué hacer, y elijo seguir estando. Es una elección, más allá de lo que viví y lo que siento en este momento. Vale la pena», dijo Gallardo en rueda de prensa.

El entrenador consideró que merece seguir estando un año más y «encarar un 2022 que va a requerir muchísima energía para jugarlo como nosotros queremos”.

Gallardo, director técnico de River desde mediados de 2014, ratificó su decisión de seguir como conductor del equipo días después de conquistar el Torneo de primera división, su decimotercer título al mando del plantel de la banda roja.

El exitoso entrenador explicó que «necesitaba evaluar» la situación para seguir en el cargo, por el alto grado de exigencia que requiere el cargo.

«Hoy mi continuidad es por un año, eso es lo mejor”, remarcó.

Nueva directiva, mismo DT

La continuidad del timonel se produce en simultáneo al cierre de ciclo de Rodolfo D’Onofrio, el presidente de River que lo trajo al club junto con el secretario deportivo Enzo Francescoli. El presidente finalizó su etapa de dos mandatos como líder del club y será reemplazado por Jorge Brito.

El 26 de noviembre, en la noche que River ganó el torneo de primera con una goleada sobre Racing (4-0), Gallardo comentó: “estoy terminando mi contrato y es la primera vez que mi vínculo se estará terminando.

«Puede ser la decisión más difícil de mi vida. Le he dado todo a este club”, añadió sembrando dudas sobre su continuidad.

Gallardo fue seguido de cerca por varios clubes de Europa y Brasil y era el candidato de los dirigentes uruguayos para dirigir a La Celeste, tras la salida de Oscar Tabárez.

«Me llegaron supuestas ofertas que he tratado de agradecer, pero me parecía que tenía mucho valor terminar primero mi vínculo, ser liberado y tomar mi decisión. Pero ayer elegí seguir estando y eso es todo, no fue evaluado demasiado, fue pensado lo justo y necesario”, remarcó el DT.

River, flamante campeón del torneo de primera, puede ganar una copa más el 18 de diciembre cuando se enfrente con Colón de Santa Fe, ganador de la Copa de la Liga Profesional en junio pasado, en un partido único por el Trofeo de Campeones.

Gallardo, de 45 años, le dio a River 13 títulos, siete de ellos en el plano internacional, incluidas dos Copas Libertadores (2015 y 2018), una Copa Sudamericana (2014), tres Recopas Sudamericanas (2015, 2016 y 2019) y la Suruga Bank 2015. Además sumó cinco copas nacionales y hace un par de semanas celebró la primera liga nacional de su ciclo.
