La Policía del condado de Broward, en la costa sureste de Florida (EEUU), presentó cargos por negligencia infantil contra Laporsha Simmons, una madre que dejó a sus tres hijos durante horas en un estacionamiento mientras ella jugaba al póker en un famoso casino del estado, informaron este martes medios locales.
Los hechos se produjeron en la noche del lunes en el Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino de Hollywood cuando la mujer, de 33 años, dejó a sus tres hijos, de 4, 10 y 12 años, en un automóvil mientras ella entraba en el casino a jugar a las cartas, reseñó EFE.
Simmons compareció hoy en un tribunal del citado condado donde se le presentaron tres cargos por negligencia infantil y un juez le prohibió cualquier contacto con sus hijos, que fueron puestos bajo el cuidado y la supervisión del Departamento de Niños y Familias de Florida, recogió el canal Local 10 News.

Según el informe del arresto, agentes de la Policía de la tribu Seminola fueron enviados a las 3.30 (hora local) a la planta tercera del estacionamiento del citado casino para que verificara el reporte de tres niños dentro de un auto.
El arresto de Simmons, radicada en Albany (Georgia), se produjo pasadas las cuatro de la mañana, cuando la mujer regresó a su coche y fue detenida por la Policía.
La Fiscalía indicó en la vista judicial de hoy que la mujer dejó a sus hijos durante cerca de cuatro horas dentro del auto mientras ella jugaba al póker en el casino.
