El artista puertorriqueño Luis Fonsi celebró este jueves el quinto aniversario del lanzamiento del tema «Despacito», cuyo video musical se convirtió en el más visto en la historia en YouTube porque «logró traspasar las barreras del idioma».
«Hoy se cumplen 5 años desde que lanzamos #Despacito, un tema que logró traspasar las barreras del idioma y que me dio la oportunidad de celebrar mi cultura y mi bandera frente al mundo entero», dijo Fonsi en Twitter, reseñó EFE.
En el mensaje, el artista incluyó una foto con el reguetonero boricua Daddy Yankee, quien puso su toque urbano en la famosa canción.
«Despacito» fue escrito por Fonsi y la panameña Erika Ender.
En un momento dado, se mantuvo en lo más alto de la lista Hot 100 de Billboard por 49 semanas consecutivas, y se ubicó en primer lugar en al menos 89 países.

El video fue dirigido por el también puertorriqueño Carlos Pérez, de la empresa Elastic People, y rodado en el colorido paisaje del barrio sanjuanero de La Perla y en el icónico bar La Factoría, en la calle San Sebastián del Viejo San Juan.
«Despacito», en su punto más alto, llegó a tener 25 millones de vistas en un solo día en YouTube, donde fue el primer video en la historia de la plataforma en superar los 3.000 millones, y luego los 4.000, 5.000 y 6.000 millones de reproducciones.
