Muzaffer Kayasan, un enfermo de leucemia residente de Estambul (Turquía), pidió ayuda a las autoridades, después de pasar 14 meses aislado tras dar positivo en 78 pruebas consecutivas de coronavirus, informa la telecadena local A Haber.
El hombre se contagió de covid-19 en noviembre de 2020 y desde entonces no ha dado negativo en ningún test, lo que le obliga a permanecer en cuarentena, reseñó RT.
“Doy positivo constantemente. […] Cuando preguntamos a los científicos y a los médicos, nos dicen que mi sistema inmunitario está debilitado, porque tengo leucemia, y me mantienen vivo durante catorce meses con los medicamentos que me recetan. Es un proceso muy difícil”, se lamenta Kayasan, que explica que tuvo un transplante exitoso de médula ósea hace tres años.

Su esposa y su hijo lo visitan ocasionalmente y luego dan negativo por el virus. Los especialistas explican al paciente que no tiene síntomas, pero que los restos de la enfermedad persisten.

Pese a los raros encuentros con sus seres queridos, Kayasan lamenta no poder ver en persona a su nieto, con el que solo se comunica a través de un cristal protector o por videoconferencia. “No puedo abrazar a mi familia. […] no puedo hablar con nadie. No queda nada de mi vida social, de mi vida familiar. El covid-19 ha acabado con mi modo de vida”, asegura Kayasan, que lamenta no poder vacunarse contra el coronavirus.
A la vista de estas dificultades y del carácter crónico que ha adquirido la enfermedad en su organismo, Kayasan instó a los no vacunados a inocularse contra el virus, no solo por su propio bien, sino por el de los demás. “No tienes derecho a matar a otros. Esto es inmoral, deshonesto”, concluye.
