La lava del volcán que hace 79 días entró en erupción en isla española de La Palma destruyó 60 edificaciones durante las últimas horas, según informó este martes el director técnico del Plan de Emergencias Volcánicas de Canarias (Pevolca), Miguel Ángel Morcuende.
En la rueda de prensa tras la reunión del comité de dirección del Pevolca, Miguel Ángel Morcuende y la portavoz científica del mismo, Carmen López, precisaron que estas 60 edificaciones están en la zona de la colada que ha sobrepasado el mirador de Las Hoyas.
Con estos últimos aportes de lava, la superficie afectada por la lava es de mil 182 hectárea, y, en cuanto a las edificaciones, según el sistema de satélites Copernicus, hay tres mil 39 afectadas, de las que dos mil 881 han sido destruidas.
Las nuevas coladas de las últimas horas son muy fluidas, están muy desgasificadas, son de alta temperatura y avanzan rápidamente, pero son efímeras, algo que no sucede con las del cono principal, explicó Carmen López, reseña EFE.
En cuanto a la calidad del aire, Morcuende dijo que en la zona sur de la emergencia se han registrado valores que, en principio, no eran peligros para la salud, pero sí altos en Puerto Naos y La Bombilla, zona esta última en la que la presencia de gases dificulta el acceso libre.
El Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) de España localizó durante esta pasada madrugada en La Palma 14 movimientos sísmicos, uno de los cuales ha tenido magnitud 3,4, y se produjo a las 2.32 horas a 13 kilómetros de profundidad bajo el municipio de Fuencaliente, donde se han localizado otros siete.
Durante la mañana de hoy, el Cabildo de La Palma (la administración que dirige la isla) informó de que no está permitido el acceso a las zonas de exclusión afectadas por la erupción volcánica que el pasado 19 de septiembre se inició en la zona de Cumbre Vieja.
De este modo, por el momento no podrán acceder los vecinos y regantes, ni por vía marítima ni terrestre, tanto a la zona sur como a la norte, indica EFE.
