El ministro del Interior de Venezuela, Remigio Ceballos, informó este miércoles que las autoridades del país destruyeron más de 515 mil 511 armas de fuego desde el año 2003 hasta la fecha, como parte de una política “de control de armas, municiones y desarme”.
“Avanzamos guiados por el plan de la patria 2019-2025 y la Gran Misión Cuadrantes de Paz, impulsando políticas de control de armas, municiones y desarme, que han permitido la destrucción de más de 515.511 armas de fuego desde el 2003 a la fecha. ¡Más vida, menos armas!”, escribió el funcionario en su cuenta de Twitter.
Ceballos indicaron que hoy “inutilizaron” un total de 16 mil 86 armas diversas que fueron incautadas.
“Estas incautaciones provienen de los distintos procedimientos realizados por los órganos de seguridad ciudadana y FANB (Fuerza Armada Nacional Bolivariana), las mismas pasan por un proceso de destrucción y fundición, para la elaboración de materiales de construcción de viviendas”, explicó el también vicepresidente sectorial de la Seguridad Ciudadana y la Paz, según reseña EFE.
El 18 de febrero, Ceballos dijo que las autoridades de Venezuela tenían identificadas a “todas las bandas delictivas” del país y que se ha creado un “gran plan” para erradicarlas.
“Tenemos totalmente identificados a todas las bandas criminales en Venezuela y hemos trazado un gran plan contra las bandas delictivas”, detalló entonces Ceballos al intervenir en una sesión de la Asamblea Nacional (AN, Parlamento), transmitiendo por el canal estatal Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
Durante su intervención, el ministro dijo que, junto al Gobierno venezolano, las fuerzas de seguridad del país tienen “un plan de lucha” contra la delincuencia que también incluye el “combate contra el narcotráfico”.
“En lo que va de año, hemos superado en 43 por ciento las incautaciones de narcóticos en relación con el año pasado. Llevamos ocho toneladas de drogas incautadas (…) eso es un gran logro que dice mucho de la lucha del Gobierno”, aseveró el funcionario.
Además, Ceballos culpó al Gobierno colombiano de tener “vínculos” con bandas criminales que operan en Venezuela “para obtener objetivos políticos”.
“Hemos descubierto vínculos de esas bandas criminales, paramilitares, equipadas y armadas con armas que son armas de uso para la guerra y que sabemos muy claramente que vienen directamente desde Colombia”, aseveró.
