Lady Gaga es toda una viuda negra en «La casa Gucci», la última película del octogenario Ridley Scott, sobre la legendaria firma de lujo italiana y el asesinato de su heredero que escandalizó a Italia en los años 1990.
La película se estrena la semana que viene (el día 24 en Estados Unidos) con un repertorio tan rutilante como la ropa y los bolsos de la casa.
Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto y Adam Driver acompañan a Gaga en esta tragedia en la que se mezclan amor, gloria, codicia y traición.
Es la segunda película de Ridley Scott en poco menos de un mes, después del estreno de «El último duelo«, que está teniendo éxito de taquilla.
Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), heredero de la casa italiana, fue asesinado el 27 de marzo de 1995 por encargo de su exesposa, la ambiciosa Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga).
Reggiani se vengó así de un hombre de negocios sin piedad, en unos años de crisis que acabaron con la venta de Gucci al grupo financiero Kering.
La película fue creada sin consultar a la verdadera Patrizia Reggiani, que salió de la cárcel hace ocho años. La casa Gucci no parece satisfecha con la versión hollywoodiense de los hechos, lo que no impide que la ropa y los accesorios de la marca aparezcan abundantemente.
El grupo Kering está dirigido por el magnate francés François-Henri Pinault, cuya esposa, la mexicanoestadounidense Salma Hayek, interpreta el rol de una vidente y cómplice del crimen.
Mundo opulento y pasiones bajas
Ridley Scott, que empezó en la publicidad, no duda en mostrar un mundo opulento y de pasiones bajas.
Al Pacino vuelve a un papel parecido al de el «Padrino», como patriarca de la marca, junto a Jeremy Irons, ambos dispuestos a pasar el testigo a las nuevas generaciones. Sin embargo, el que tenía que ser el heredero, Paolo Gucci (Jared Leto), no cuenta con sus favores, y acabará arruinado.
La francesa Camille Cottin interpreta a Paola Franchi, que seduce a Maurizio Gucci y provoca el furor y la caída en desgracia de Patrizia.
«Fue muy divertido verse propulsada al ambiente de la jet-set italiana a mediados de los años 1980» explicó Cottin a la AFP.
Pero es Lady Gaga la que atrae toda la atención en la pantalla, dos años después de su éxito en «A star is Born», una película que le mereció un Óscar, aunque… a la Mejor Canción.
El gato, el zorro y la pantera
Gaga adopta un fuerte acento italiano para dar veracidad a su interpretación (en inglés, como toda la película) de Patrizia Reggiani, una mujer manipuladora y ambiciosa, hija de un pequeño empresario probablemente relacionado con la mafia.
La cantante reconoce que quiso darle su propia versión al personaje, sin basarse en la real Patrizia, desde que conoce a Maurizio hasta la traición de éste y su caída.
«He trabajado con tres animales diferentes» durante esta historia trágica, explicó en una reciente rueda de prensa.
Inicialmente, cuando Patrizia conoce a Maurizio, «era un gato doméstico«. Luego, cuando a mediados de la historia Patrizia pasa a ser una mujer todopoderosa, «era un zorro».
