La policía de Colonia, en Alemania, anunció el miércoles que había identificado durante dos años de investigación a 439 supuestos miembros de una red de pedofilia expandida por todo el país.
La investigación iniciada en 2019 por la fiscalía de Colonia identificó también a 65 menores de entre uno y 17 años de edad que habrían sido víctimas de la red.
«Hemos identificado sospechosos de todas las clases sociales«, detalló el jefe del grupo de investigación Michael Esser durante una rueda de prensa. «Gente que se ganaba bien la vida y personas muy instruidas», así como «gente humilde«.
Según los investigadores, en la mayoría de casos, los sospechosos actuaban en el entorno familiar más próximo.
La justicia ya ha emitido 13 condenas por esta investigación, entre ellas una sentencia de 12 años de prisión en octubre de 2020 contra el líder de la red.
Se trata de Jörg L., de unos 40 años, acusado de decenas de abusos sexuales en menores, violaciones y difusión de pornografía infantil, reseña la agencia AFP.
La mayoría de crímenes fueron contra su hija, nacida en 2017, y que habría sido regularmente maltratada desde que tenía tres meses en ausencia de su madre. Su detención en 2019 permitió desmantelar la amplia red pedófila.
