Keydomar de 21 años de edad, explicó que lleva un año practicando el peso de 96kg debido a que su categoría es 85kg, pero se eliminó. «Terminé con 89kg, pero no es olímpico entonces la que quedaba como olímpica era la 96kg que fue la que participé».
Comentó que desde que conoció las pesas quedó encantado. «Antes hice lucha olímpica, natación, fútbol, bascket, pero desde que conocí las pesas dije que esto es lo que quiero hacer. Solo estaba esperando cumplir 11 años para entrenar».
El atleta es el segundo mejor en su categoría, por lo que para él significa la recompensa de tanto sacrificio, «Tanto sudor, tantas lágrimas, tantos días fuera de tu familia, creo que todo eso va de la mano y Dios sabe recompensar esas cosas». Del mismo modo, comentó que su madre es su todo, «Todo lo que he hecho es por ella».
Vallenilla agradeció todo el cariño que recibió al llegar a Venezuela y en su comunidad en La Vega.»Nuestro equipo es ejemplo de superación, si vienes de abajo también puedes cumplir tus sueños».
El subcampeón olímpico expresó que ya se encuentra entrenando, pero solo para acondicionar su físico. «Es algo suave, es para mantener el cuerpo», detalla Meridiano.
Keydomar afirmó que los favoritos para las medallas eran Ibrahim Elbakh (Qatar), Anton Pliesnoi (Georgia) y Boady Santavy (Canadá). «Yo salí con todo, yo no soy débil ni aquí ni allá».
El criollo dijo sentirse firme, pero que no está conforme con la medalla. «Tengo mucho más por dar, voy a luchar para que Keydomar no se quede solo con esta medalla olímpica».
Para finalizar, Vallenilla aseguró que irá por nuevos retos y el oro en los próximos Juegos. «Espero cambiar el color de esta medalla en París 2024, conquistar títulos mundiales y panamericanos… Quiero que Keydomar quede grabado en las pesas venezolanas tanto como en el mundo».
