El opositor venezolano Julio Borges propuso este viernes que los activos del país ubicados en el exterior sean transferidos a un fideicomiso, luego de que el Gobierno colombiano sometiera a la compañía petroquímica Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. a la «máxima vigilancia».
«A la luz de lo ocurrido con Monómeros, es necesario reiterar nuestra propuesta de que los activos en el exterior sean transferidos a un fideicomiso, el cual podría estar administrado por el Banco Mundial o el BID para beneficio de la República», expresó Borges en su cuenta de Twitter.
Agregó que este fideicomiso contaría con la supervisión de «protectores independientes» y tendrían tres funciones: manejar los activos para «beneficio de los venezolanos», nombrar juntas directivas y auditores en las empresas venezolanas en el exterior con criterios previamente establecidos y garantizar la transparencia e independencia de la gestión.
«Cabe acotar que una vez se logre una transición democrática y se elija un nuevo Gobierno, los activos serían devueltos para que sean administrados por la República. Esta propuesta persigue la preservación de los activos, garantizando que estos se usen para beneficio de la población», destacó.
El martes, la Superintendencia de Sociedades de Colombia publicó una resolución mediante la cual asumió el máximo grado de supervisión que ejerce sobre una sociedad comercial con el fin de ordenar los correctivos necesarios para subsanar una situación crítica.
La empresa fue creada en 1967 como propiedad de los dos países hasta que en 2006 Colombia vendió su participación a sus socios venezolanos. En el 2019, en medio de la crisis social y económica de Venezuela, el opositor Juan Guaidó tomó el control y designó nuevos integrantes en la junta directiva.
Los miembros de la petroquímica rechazaron esta decisión por parte del Gobierno colombiano y en un comunicado de cinco puntos, indicaron que «en sus 53 años de historia, Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. se ha caracterizado por acatar la ley colombiana y adherirse a los más altos estándares de gobierno corporativo».
«Durante el primer semestre del 2021, los resultados financieros de Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. fueron realmente positivos. Incluso en los momentos más difíciles del reciente paro nacional le cumplimos a Colombia y llegamos con nuestros productos a apoyar el campo hasta en las zonas más apartadas del país», señaló el comunicado, según publica EFE.
Al expresar su desacuerdo con los argumentos para la intervención, Monómeros manifestó que «la Superintendencia parece haber basado su decisión en información desactualizada y en apreciaciones que no se compadecen con las actualidades realidades económicas del país».
«Por este motivo, Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. presentará los recursos de ley, con el fin de solicitarle a Superintendencia de Sociedades que revoque su decisión», indica el comunicado de la empresa.
