El ministro de Exteriores israelí, Gabi Ashkenazi, destacó este asunto entre delegaciones de su país y de Egipto en El Cairo, mientras que el primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu, hizo esta misma demanda al recibir en Jerusalén a una misión egipcias encabezada por el jefe de los servicios de inteligencia de ese país, Abás Kamel.
“Por encima de todo, Israel está completamente comprometido con el retorno de nuestros soldados y ciudadanos que están arrestados por Hamás”, indicó en su cuenta de Twitter Ashkenazi nada más llegar por la mañana a El Cairo al frente de una delegación negociadora, detalla EFE.
“No permitiremos que la reconstrucción de la Franja de Gaza permita a Hamás reconstruir sus capacidades terroristas y no resolver el problema del retorno de los prisioneros y las personas desaparecidas” en su poder, señaló el ministro, según el documento.
En una reunión entre Ashkenazi y su homólogo egipcio, Sameh Shukri, resaltó la importancia de “poner fin a las acciones que conducen a tensiones y a la escalada de enfrentamientos” en “Jerusalén Este, la mezquita de Al Aqsa y todos los lugares sagrados islámicos y cristianos”, según un comunicado del Ministerio de Exteriores egipcio.
