Israel dejará de pedir pruebas de coronavirus para entrar al país

Israel dejará de pedir resultados negativos de pruebas de coronavirus para entrar al país a partir del próximo 21 de mayo, informó hoy el Ministerio de Sanidad, que también levantará la obligatoriedad de las pruebas adicionales que se realizan al entrar al país.

«Tras la disminución de la morbilidad, a partir del 21 de mayo de 2022 -la medianoche del viernes al sábado hora de Israel-, la obligación de realizarse una prueba PCR al entrar al Estado de Israel (Aeropuerto Ben Gurión, cruces terrestres y marítimos) será abolida tanto para tanto israelíes como extranjeros», señaló hoy el Ministerio en un comunicado.

«Además, se abolirá la obligación de que los extranjeros se sometan a pruebas de PCR o antígenos antes de abordar un vuelo a Israel o ingresar por vía terrestre o marítima», precisó el texto, que añadió que también se dejará de requerir una cuarentena de 24 horas para quienes ingresen al país, reseña EFE.

Por último, se informó de que ya no se exigirá el uso de mascarillas en aeropuertos y en cruces fronterizos y que quienes aborden cruceros que partan desde Israel tampoco deberán someterse a pruebas, una medida que aún estaba vigente.

Según Sanidad, sin embargo, toda persona que desee ingresar a Israel -vacunada o no- aún estará obligada a completar un formulario de entrada durante las 48 horas previas a la partida desde su lugar de origen.

Israel y sus fronteras

Estas medidas representan el abandono de una política que estaba en vigor prácticamente desde que Israel reabrió sus fronteras a extranjeros tras las primeras olas de la pandemia y que desde marzo de este año ya no obligaba a los ciudadanos o residentes en Israel a presentar resultados negativos previos a su ingreso.

Esta decisión llega casi un mes después de que Israel eliminara la obligación de llevar mascarilla en interiores, una de las últimas restricciones que aún estaba vigente.

Desde entonces, el uso de mascarillas sigue siendo obligatorio únicamente en lugares de alto riesgo de infección, como aviones, hospitales y residencias de ancianos.

A partir del próximo sábado la única restricción aún en vigor contra el COVID-19 es la cuarentena de entre cinco y siete días para los contagios vacunados y de diez días para los sin vacunar.
