El gobierno nacional inició este lunes el plan de vacunación masivo para inmunizar a los niños mayores 2 años en adelante contra el coronavirus, con especial énfasis en aquellos que presentan alguna enfermedad o deficiencia inmunológica.
El ministro de Salud, Carlos Alvarado, aseguró que más de 2 mil 700 menores de edad serán inmunizados contra el virus para continuar con sus actividades escolares semipresenciales, bajo evaluación médica de pediatras y nutricionistas.
«Progresivamente, en todo el territorio nacional vamos a cumplir esta jornada de vacunación (…) Iniciamos con la evaluación médica, después van a un área de registro y luego otra nutricional para evaluar de manera integral a los niños», acotó.
La vicepresidenta de la República, Delcy Rodríguez, informó que los niños vacunados serán quienes presenten «debilitamiento o que tengan algún tipo de enfermedad que comprometa su sistema inmunológico», pues aseguró que son la población que tienen prioridad.
