Alfredo Santaella (58) y Manuel Santaella (30) murieron tras un incendio originado, presuntamente, por un cortocircuito en una vivienda del sector Los Olivos Nuevo, municipio Girardot, estado Aragua.
Las víctimas llegaron el pasado jueves en la noche a su vivienda, en la calle Pérez Almarza, y encendieron una cocina eléctrica para calentar la comida. Al parecer olvidaron que el aparato estaba prendido este se sobrecalentó y produjo el corto que originó el fuego
Los Santaella recolectaban cartón en Maracay para venderlo. Tenía la vivienda llena del material de trabajo por lo que llamas se expandieron rápidamente por toda la habitación, según detalla El Periodiquito.
Un vecino indicó que el fuego comenzó a las 2.00 de la madrugada, hora en la que llamó a los Bomberos, quienes trataron de sacar a las víctimas, sin embargo, para cuando lo hicieron ya no se podía hacer más nada por ellos.
Testigos precisaron que afortunadamente no explotaron los cilindros de gas doméstico, “de lo contrario, la tragedia sería mayor”.
Al sitio se trasladó el cuerpo de Bomberos del estado Aragua y una comisión del Eje de Homicidios de la Policía científica para hacer las pesquisas correspondientes.
