Habitantes del lugar señalaron que al parecer los menores lanzaron el encendedor contra el suelo de la casa donde jugaban, lo que causó un estallido que produjo las llamas.
El vecino Juan Hernández informó que el hecho ocurrió el domingo 19 de diciembre a las 6:00 de la tarde, y que varias personas intentaron ayudar, pero el fuego se propagó rápidamente a las viviendas aledañas, y no pudieron salvar los enseres.
Mientras que Wendy Pérez, una de las afectadas indicó que lograron sacar las bombonas de gas, lo que evitó un problema mayor.
Los Bomberos del municipio Zamora (Guatire) apagaron las llamas. Además, también estuvo una comisión de Gestión Urbana de la Alcaldía de Plaza (Guarenas).
La vicepresidenta del Consejo Legislativo de Miranda, Pierina Rojas, informó que de acuerdo con un censo resultaron afectadas cinco familias integradas por 11 menores de edad y ocho adultos.
Rojas indicó que también solicitaron apoyo a Corpoelec porque el lugar quedó sin energía eléctrica debido al incidente, reseñó Últimas Noticias.
