El hijo de 17 años de la cantante irlandesa Sinead O’Connor, Shane, fue hallado muerto después de que se hubiese denunciado su desaparición esta semana, según confirma este sábado la policía irlandesa, que había realizado un llamamiento para localizarlo.
El joven había desaparecido este jueves, supuestamente después de marcharse de un centro médico donde se encontraba bajo vigilancia por riesgo de suicidio y fue visto por última vez en Tallaght, al sur de Dublín, reseñó EFE.
Un portavoz policial confirmó hoy a medios locales que “tras la recuperación de un cuerpo en el área de Bray, en Wicklow, el viernes, 7 de enero, el llamamiento de ‘persona desaparecida’ con relación a Shane O’Connor, de 17 años, se ha detenido”.
Sinéad O’Connor, de 55 años, recurrió a Twitter para rendir un tributo al adolescente, que tuvo con el cantante de folk Donal Lunny, en una conmovedor mensaje: “Mi hijo bello, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, la luz de mi vida, decidió terminar su angustia terrenal hoy y ahora está con Dios”.
La cantante, que cambió su nombre a Shuhada’Davitt en 2018, también colgó una canción de Bob Marley que dedicó a su hijo, uno de los cuatro que ha tenido la irlandesa.
Según aseguran los medios, O’Connor había amenazado al Hospital Tallaght con una querella en caso de que “algo le ocurriera” a su hijo, quien supuestamente se marchó de ese centro médico donde se encontraba bajo vigilancia por riesgo de suicido.
La policía había renovado el llamamiento para localizar al joven, con un mensaje en el que describía el aspecto físico de Shane, la ropa que llevaba e indicaba el lugar donde se le vio por última vez y en el que indicaba que les preocupaba el “bienestar” del chico.
