«El secretario general considera que la decisión de la Federación Rusa es una violación de la integridad territorial y de la soberanía de Ucrania e incompatible con los principios de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas», dijo Guterres en un comunicado remitido a la prensa.
El máximo representante de Naciones Unidas afirmó asimismo estar «muy preocupado» por esta acción rusa y pidió una «resolución pacífica del conflicto del este de Ucrania, en concordancia con los acuerdos de Minks» respaldados por la ONU en 2015.
Asimismo, pidió que «todos los actores relevantes centren sus esfuerzos en el cese inmediato de hostilidades, en la protección de civiles y de infraestructura civil, y en la prevención de cualquier acción o declaración que pueda agravar más la peligrosa situación».
