Juan Guaidó, líder de la oposición venezolana, convocó para este 17 de abril a una protesta para exigir la ejecución de un plan de vacunación nacional que permita ofrecer inmunización a todos los venezolanos contra el COVID-19.
El anuncio lo hizo durante su intervención en la rueda de prensa con medios nacionales e internacionales que ofreció de forma conjunta con representantes del sector salud, en la plaza de Los Palos Grandes del municipio Chacao.
“Convoco a los venezolanos a vencer el miedo y la pandemia de manera organizada y unida. El sábado, con las medidas de bioseguridad respectivas, acompañaremos al sector salud y sociedad civil en la lucha por la exigencia de vacuna para todos”.
Asimismo dijo que ratificaba la disposición de su posición política para poner lo que sea necesario para el ingreso de las vacunas a Venezuela.
Recordó que ante la Emergencia Humanitaria Compleja, la presencia del COVID-19 y la “catástrofe en curso”, desde el liderazgo opositor han puesto en la mesa “alternativas de solución para salvar vidas”.
“Si ya se pagó la mitad, ponemos a disposición la otra mitad. Si se pagó el cien por ciento, entonces ponemos a disposición recursos para la compra de más vacunas”.
En la rueda de prensa estuvieron presentes representantes del sector salud, sociedad civil, gremios, partidos políticos y diputados del Parlamento nacional de 2015.
La presidenta del Colegio de Enfermeras de Caracas, Ana Rosario Contreras, precisó que la manifestación será a las 10 a. m. en la Plaza Los Palos Grandes, en la ciudad de Caracas.
Por su parte, la médico residente de Hospital Universitario de Caracas y asesora de la comisión de expertos de la salud creada de la AN de 2015, Hilda Rubí González, informó que solo se ha vacunado al 1,3% de la población y las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) están abarrotadas, por lo tanto “es momento de que ingresen las vacunas a Venezuela”.
«Basta de contar muertos»
Guaidó se unió al clamor y exigencia de médicos y enfermeras de detener el conteo de muertos en el país, a causa de la pandemia que se agrava por la ya existente Emergencia Humanitaria Compleja.
“Ya basta de contar muertos, lo que queremos es salvar y contar vidas. Para nosotros en el Gobierno interino es indistinto la marca de la vacuna; lo que queremos es salvar vidas. La vacuna debe ser cual sea, pero siempre y cuando esté certificada por la comunidad científica”.
Guaidó definió como un “triunfo de la sociedad civil” el hecho de que Maduro haya aceptado el ingreso de las vacunas del sistema COVAX.
“La buena noticia es que ese dinero no lo usaron para pagar los abogados de Saab (Álex); ni para comprar mansiones en Galipán. Empecinarse por un tipo de vacuna es retrasar la vacunación en el país. Es sádico ver morir a los venezolanos por negarles acceso a la salud. Basta de soberbia y de engaños de la dictadura”.
Asimismo comentó el Presidente de la legítima Asamblea Nacional, que con el dinero de la construcción del metro Guatire-Guarenas, que nunca se culminó, se hubieran pagado 30 veces las vacunas para inmunizar a todos en el país; o que con el dinero invertido en las obras de Odebrecht en Venezuela, que tampoco se ejecutaron, se hubieran cancelado las vacunas de Latinoamérica.
Finalmente, Guaidó hizo un llamado a los venezolanos a “no quedarse de brazos cruzados ante la pretensión del oficialismo de aniquilar la esperanza y la lucha para poner fin a la catástrofe humanitaria en curso que hay en el país».
