El líder opositor Juan Guaidó envió este sábado un mensaje al cubano José Daniel Ferrer, detractor del Gobierno que fue detenido el pasado jueves, en el que le calificó como «un ejemplo para los que encabezan la defensa de la democracia».
«El liderazgo se ejerce con el ejemplo. La democracia no es un regalo, siempre está en juego. Eres ejemplo para los que encabezan la defensa de la democracia pese al riesgo de enfrentar regímenes que violan derechos humanos. Nos une la lucha por ver a nuestros países libres», escribió Guaidó en su cuenta de Twitter.
El opositor venezolano respondía de ese modo a otro mensaje publicado en el Twitter de Ferrer, líder de la Unión Patriótica de Cuba (Unpacu), en el que le mostró su agradecimiento «por su pronta e importante solidaridad».
Ferrer fue detenido de nuevo este jueves, poco después de que las fuerzas policiales volvieran a establecer un cerco en torno a la sede de su formación en Santiago de Cuba, a 900 kilómetros de La Habana.
La hija del disidente, Ana Belkis Ferrer, denunció a través de Twitter el «injusto y arbitrario» arresto de su padre y el refuerzo del «cerco represivo» en la sede de Unpacu, a la cual «sicarios han impedido el paso a una veintena de activistas», escribió.
También publicó una secuencia de tres imágenes del supuesto momento de la detención: en una se ve a Ferrer tumbado boca arriba en el suelo de una calle con los brazos cruzados sobre el pecho y en las otras dos varios hombres vestidos de civil lo levantan en volandas y lo introducen en una patrulla policial.
En los últimos días, Ferrer había denunciado en varias ocasiones cortes en sus servicios de telefonía y acceso a internet, así como las detenciones de otros disidentes.
El opositor y alrededor de una veintena de activistas concluyeron el pasado 11 de abril una huelga de hambre de tres semanas en protesta contra un cerco policial en torno a las instalaciones de Unpacu.
