Gobierno de EEUU tiene “información creíble” de lista de ucranianos para ser asesinados por Rusia

El gobierno de Estados Unidos dispone de “información creíble” que asegura que las fuerzas rusas han confeccionado una lista de ciudadanos ucranianos para matarlos o enviados a campos de detención después de un ataque, invasión y ocupación del país por parte de Moscú.

Esta información ha sido enviada por Washington a la jefa de derechos humanos de las Naciones Unidas en Ginebra, según publica este lunes el diario The New York Times, que dice disponer de una copia del documento, reseñó EFE.

La carta dirigida a Michelle Bachelet, la alta comisionada de las Naciones Unidas para los derechos humanos, también indica que las fuerzas rusas planean cometer violaciones de los derechos humanos, incluidas torturas o secuestros de civiles.

Los objetivos probables serían personas que se oponen a las acciones rusas, entre ellas disidentes de Rusia y Bielorrusia que viven en Ucrania, periodistas, activistas anticorrupción y miembros de minorías étnicas y religiosas y de la comunidad LGTB, según el diario.

“También tenemos información creíble de que las fuerzas rusas probablemente utilizarán medidas letales para dispersar las protestas pacíficas o contrarrestar los ejercicios pacíficos de resistencia que pudieran producirse por parte de las poblaciones civiles”, dice la carta, firmada por Bathsheba Nell Crocker, embajadora de Estados Unidos ante las oficinas de las Naciones Unidas en Ginebra.

El rotativo asegura que dispone de testimonios de tres funcionarios estadounidenses que han confirmado la autenticidad de la carta y su contenido.

La tensión entre Rusia y EEUU y sus aliados occidentales ha alcanzado cotas máximas durante el pasado fin de semana y, mientras Washington asegura que Moscú invadirá Ucrania en los próximos días, aún continúan produciéndose contactos diplomáticos para evitar un conflicto.

Estados Unidos accedió este domingo a mantener una cumbre presidencial con Rusia, pero puso como condición que los rusos no invadan antes Ucrania, e insistió en que todo apunta a que ese ataque está “a punto” de ocurrir.

El presidente estadounidense, Joe Biden, “ha aceptado en principio reunirse” próximamente con su homólogo ruso, Vladímir Putin, “si no ha habido una invasión” de Ucrania para entonces, dijo la portavoz de la Casa Blanca, Jen Psaki, en un comunicado la noche del domingo.
