El Gobierno de Nicolás Maduro aseguró este sábado que desde 2018 han regresado al país 26 mil 947 venezolanos de 19 países con el denominado «Plan Vuelta a la Patria» tras el retorno de 99 ciudadanos desde Ecuador este fin de semana.
«La emoción de volver a casa. Venezuela recibe a 99 connacionales provenientes de Ecuador en un vuelo de Vuelta a la Patria. Son ya 154 vuelos que suman cerca de 27 mil repatriados», indicó la Cancillería de Venezuela en su cuenta de Twitter.
Igualmente, el organismo detalló en una nota de prensa, que el plan, creado en 2018, ha realizado 154 vuelos y un traslado marítimo desde 19 países.
«El balance a la fecha da cuenta de 26 mil 947 repatriados desde 19 países, convirtiéndolo en la estrategia de su tipo de mayor alcance en el mundo, implementada por un Gobierno», señaló.
La Cancillería indicó que desde Ecuador han vuelto 5 mil 273 venezolanos, ocupando el tercer lugar con el mayor número de retornados, después de Brasil y Perú con 7 mil 285 y 6 mil 590, respectivamente.
La mayoría sin documentación
Según datos oficiales, en Ecuador residen alrededor de 450 mil migrantes venezolanos, una parte de los cuales se acogió a programas de regularización entre 2019 y 2020, aunque la mayoría sigue sin disponer de la documentación requerida por las autoridades, lo cual dificulta su inclusión en la sociedad.
El presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, prometió el pasado 7 de octubre reforzar el plan para que puedan volver «todos los venezolanos y venezolanas que quieran regresar de Chile, Perú, Ecuador, Colombia».
A principios de octubre, otros 200 venezolanos retornaron desde Chile con el mismo programa, tras las agresiones a migrantes que se produjeron a finales de septiembre en la ciudad de Iquique, en el norte chileno, en una multitudinaria concentración que terminó en incidentes violentos.
Pero otros decidieron permanecer en ese país, pese a la oferta de Maduro, que fue transmitida, personalmente, por el embajador de Venezuela en el país andino, Arévalo Méndez, cuya propuesta fue rechazada al considerar que no se dan las condiciones políticas y económicas para volver a su nación de origen.
La Plataforma de Coordinación Interagencial para Refugiados y Migrantes de Venezuela (R4V), asegura que más de 5,9 millones de personas refugiadas y migrantes han salido del país, de los que el 82 % vive en países de América Latina y el Caribe.
