La Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera (UIF) del Gobierno mexicano está investigando a la famosa cantante mexicana Gloria Trevi y a su marido por lavado de dinero y por defraudación, según informó este lunes la institución.
En un breve mensaje, la UIF confirmó que existe una investigación contra Gloria Trevi y su esposo del 8 de septiembre por defraudación fiscal y por lavado de dinero, reseñó EFE.
Medios locales reportaron en las últimas horas que la UIF, organismo perteneciente a la Secretaría de Hacienda, presentó una denuncia contra Trevi y su marido.
Según el diario La Jornada, la denuncia se presentó ante la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) el 8 de septiembre al considerar que las empresas que ambos poseen y que tienen su sede en Texas, Estados Unidos, son utilizadas para evadir el pago de impuestos en territorio nacional.
De acuerdo con el rotativo, entre mayo y junio pasados la empresa Great Tallent LLC cambió de director y Gloria Trevi fue sustituida en la dirección del corporativo, cargo que recayó en su esposo.
En los últimos años, mediante transferencias a esa compañía, se habría evadido al fisco hasta 400 millones de pesos (uno 20 millones de dólares), de acuerdo con el diario El Universal.
En la denuncia presentada por la UIF se indica también que el marido lidera una red de lavado de dinero con varias empresas y seis personas físicas, entre ellas Trevi, de 53 años.
La cantante es una de las figuras más reconocidas musicalmente en México y lleva décadas de carrera pese a que fuerte polémicas han rodeado su trayectoria.
En enero de 2000, la artista, su exrepresentante Sergio Andrade y María Raquenel Portillo, conocida como «Mary Boquitas», fueron detenidos en Río de Janeiro (Brasil) bajo cargos de rapto, violación y corrupción de menores.
Trevi pasó tres años en la cárcel y fue extraditada a México, donde fue absuelta y recuperó su libertad en septiembre de 2004.
