Los sectores representativos del municipio Rosario de Perijá, liderados por la Alcaldía, firmaron este jueves 11 de abril, un documento dirigido a las instancias nacionales y regionales, sobre la problemática que se presenta con los indígenas yukpas en la zona.
Tal inquietud la planteó el alcalde Ely Ramón Atencio en el programa radial institucional «Soy Rosarense», transmitido por varias emisoras locales y a través de las plataformas digitales.
Al evento, realizado en el edificio municipal, asistieron los representantes de los gremios ganaderos, comerciantes, sector salud, transporte, iglesias, entre otros.
«Estamos sumamente preocupados» y por eso el llamado a que «nos ayuden a solucionar este problema porque estamos de manos atados porque no podemos meternos, violando la ley; incluso nuestras ordenanzas, como la de Convivencia Ciudadana que acabamos de aprobar», aseguró el alcalde.
Dese hace cinco días se han presentado trancas en la Troncal 6 cuando un grupo de indígenas yukpas en su viaje a la capital para, según ellos, vender su artesanía, son impedidos de avanzar por la Guardia Nacional en el punto de control de La Villa del Rosario. Esto genera protestas y por ende se produce el cierre de tan importante vía.
Norky Saturno, presidenta de Acivi señaló que el comercio está afectado y en riesgo de colapsar. Las empresas de alimentos que requieren refrigeración, llaman todos los días preguntando por la situación. «Estamos ante una eventualidad inesperada», dijo.
La doctora Yuseb Romero, directora del hospital señaló que están afectadas las cirugías programadas en pacientes que están graves. Han tenido que ir hasta el sitio de las trancas para solicitar el paso de los médicos que van a Maracaibo y los que tienen que venir.
«Hay que tener corazón duro para no ver la situación en la que están colocando la salud en el municipio.», dijo Romero.
Renny Ortega, productor de lácteos, también dió a conocer la preocupación del sector porque las trancas «afectan la calidad del alimento».
