La ONG venezolana Foro Penal denunció este lunes que en el país hay 264 personas encarceladas a las que consideran «presos políticos», uno menos que en el informe del pasado 25 de agosto.
«Al día de hoy, en el Foro Penal registramos 264 presos políticos en Venezuela. Además, nueve mil 411 personas se mantienen sujetas a procesos penales arbitrarios, por motivos políticos, pero bajo medidas cautelares», informó el vicepresidente de la organización, Gonzalo Himiob, en su cuenta de Twitter.
Agregó que por género, de los 264, 249 son hombres, 15 son mujeres y también hay un adolescente.
Asimismo, Himiob indicó que, del total de reos, 130 son civiles y 134 militares.
La ONG señaló que desde 2012 ha asistido gratuitamente a más de 12 mil detenidos, «hoy excarcelados, y a otras víctimas de violaciones a sus derechos humanos».
«Desde 2014, se han registrado 15 mil 743 detenciones políticas en Venezuela», añadió el Foro Penal.
