La Fiscalía General de Brasil presentó este viernes una apelación contra la decisión judicial que anuló las condenas a prisión que pesaban contra el expresidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (2003-2011).
La apelación deberá ser juzgada por el pleno del Supremo, formado por once magistrados, y en ella no solo estarán en juego las penas de cárcel dictadas contra Lula, que suman casi 26 años, sino también sus derechos políticos y la posibilidad de postular a la Presidencia en 2022, que ha recuperado con el fallo que anuló las sentencias.
Según la demanda presentada por la Fiscalía ante el Supremo, la solicitud de mantener las decisiones adoptadas por el tribunal de Curitiba «se fundamenta en la defensa de la estabilidad procesal y la seguridad jurídica».
También sostiene que en las cuatro causas que han sido anuladas, en dos de las cuales ya había sentencia, existía una relación con las corruptelas en Petrobras, pues trataban de sobornos supuestamente recibidos por el expresidente de empresas constructoras que habían obtenido contratos con la petrolera en forma fraudulenta.
