La cuarta edición del Iberoamerican Film Festival de Miami (IAFFM), que alza el telón el próximo miércoles dedicado en especial al cine mexicano, tendrá entre sus invitados a Tatiana Huezo, la directora de ‘Noche de fuego’, candidato a representar a México en los Oscar.
Así lo confirmó Fernando Arciniega, director del IAFFM, quien añadió a la lista de invitados confirmados a la actriz mexicana Mabel Cadena, de ‘El baile de los 41’, una película que reivindica la historia de comunidad LGBT en México, y al reconocido actor del mismo país Joaquín Cosío, reporta EFE.
El festival, suspendido el año pasado como consecuencia de la pandemia de coronavirus, retoma ahora sus presentaciones en pantalla grande en el Silverspot Cinema, aunque ‘será un híbrido’ entre lo presencial y lo virtual, indicó el director.
Arciniega sobre esta documentalista cuya primera obra de ficción, ‘Noche de fuego’, sigue la vida de las mujeres que, siendo víctimas de los efectos del narcotráfico en su pueblo, buscan ser invisibles para sobrevivir a la violencia tangible del lugar que habitan.
El festival se inaugurará el próximo 3 noviembre con la película ‘Critical Thinking’, dirigida por el actor de origen colombiano John Leguizamo, aunque su invitado especial será México ‘para mostrar lo grande que es’ su cine.
En una rueda de prensa reciente, Arciniega hizo hincapié en la importancia de la mujer como creadora en la historia del cine de México, ya sean ‘actrices, productoras, guionistas, directoras’.
En ese momento, el festival confirmó la presencia en el IAFFM de las actrices Blanca Guerra, Claudia Ramírez, Rosa María Bianchi (argentina nacionalizada mexicana), Patricia Reyes Spíndola, Regina Orozco y Leticia Huijara.
