El presidente de la Confederación de Asociaciones de Productores Agropecuarios de Venezuela (Fedeagro), Celso Fantinel, aseguró que existen diferentes variables que podrían afectar la producción agrícola.
“Tenemos un factor climático negativo hacia Sudamérica. Hubo una sequía muy fuerte lo que fue algunas regiones de Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay y Paraguay, para nosotros va a ser lluvia”, explicó.
Fantinel indicó en el programa 2+2 que la guerra en Ucrania también tendrá repercusiones en el sector agrícola, reseñó Unión Radio.
“El 16 % del maíz que se vende en el mundo se produce allá. Las oleaginosas, todo lo que tiene que ver con el aceite girasol, alrededor de un 20 % es exportado desde Ucrania”, apuntó.
El máximo representante de Fedeagro destacó que, pese a la producción, Venezuela se mantiene dependiente de las importaciones.
“Se produjeron alrededor de unas 500.000 toneladas de maíz blanco, fue el rubro que más creció. En amarillo, se produjeron alrededor de unas 300.000 toneladas. En total, entre los dos blancos y amarillos unas 800.000. Las necesidades de Venezuela en los dos rubros son alrededor de 2 millones y medio de toneladas”, añadió.
Fantinel además señaló que el sector necesita al menos unos 1500 millones de dólares para impulsar el sector.
