Celso Fantinel, presidente de Fedeagro, aseguró que en Venezuela la producción de alimentos de consumo interno solo llega al 30 %, por lo que deben importar el resto de los productos.
Pidió que se crearan políticas públicas dirigidas al campo para incentivar la producción nacional y, eventualmente, la exportación.
«La crisis que se venía viendo con el combustible y el Diésel continúa limitando la siembra a pesar de nuestros esfuerzos», añadió.
Fantinel destacó que están recuperando capacidades para aumentar la productividad, aunque la pandemia y la escasez lo complicaron. Además, advirtió que es «lamentable» que se deba hacer uso de mano de obra para procesos masivos como la fumigación.
«Cada estado tiene características distintas y necesita equipos especiales para fumigar y cosechar», acotó.
El presidente de Fedeagro explicó que hasta que no mejore la escasez de Diésel, será «complicado» subir los niveles de producción.
«Desde Feadeagro buscamos mejores pesticidas y hacemos lo que está en nuestras manos para hacer mejores productos», señaló.
