Una niña, de dos años, falleció este sábado tras ser arrollada por una camioneta en la comuna La Guadalupe, conocida también como La Invasión, en San Antonio del Táchira.
El suceso, según familiares, se registró cerca de las 11:30 a.m. en el sector referido. Allí, una camioneta Ford 83, arrolló a la niña en el momento en el que la infante iba detrás de su progenitora, quien se disponía a cruzar hacia la bodega a comprar dos barras de hielo.
«Acabábamos de llegar de La Parada», dijo el padre al equipo reporteril de La Nación desde el hospital Samuel Darío Maldonado, donde la niña falleció minutos después de haber ingresado.
«Primero fuimos al CDI pero nos dijeron que no la podían atender», recalcó el caballero, al tiempo que indicó que, frente a la emergencia, trasladó a su hija en una motocicleta.
«Ni siquiera nos dio tiempo de llamar a los bomberos», prosiguió mientras dejaba claro que nadie se percató en el instante en el que la niña salió detrás de su mamá.
De acuerdo con el padre, el carro, aunque no venía a alta velocidad, aparentemente su conductor venía distraído al entablar conversación con otra persona.
Organismos de seguridad acudieron al lugar. El conductor se encuentra detenido mientras se adelanta la investigación.
La pareja, además de la niña, tienen un hijo de cuatro años.
El conductor, trascendió, se dedica a la venta de sillas.
