Fallece el reconocido escritor e historiador larense Guillermo Morón

Este viernes 19 de noviembre se conoció la noticia del fallecimiento del escritor e historiador larense Guillermo Morón a sus 95 años de edad.

“Me permito informar que ha fallecido nuestro gran historiador, escritor, investigador y maestro Don Guillermo Morón. A Doña Mari, Juan Carlos y a toda su familia mi sentido pésame. Se ha marchado mi segundo padre, mi maestro y amigo”, escribió la historiadora María Eugenia Mosquera, quien dio a conocer el lamentable hecho..

Morón, nativo de Carora el 8 de febrero de 1926 y, desde muy joven, comenzó a escribir para medios de comunicación como el Diario de Carora y nuestra casa redactora, El Impulso.

Asimismo, cursó estudios de Historia en el Pedagógico de Caracas, de donde egresó como profesor en esta rama a la que dedicaría su vida.

Asimismo, ocupó importantes cargos públicos en la entidad larense, donde fue secretario privado del gobernador Carlos Felice Cardot. Posteriormente en 1954 recibió un doctorado en Historia, en la Universidad de Madrid, para luego estudiar Filosofía de la Cultura y las Lenguas Clásicas en las universidades alemanas de Gotinga y Hamburgo.

En 1958 comienza a escribir su libro Historia General de Venezuela e ingresa a la Academia Nacional de la Historia. A la par, trabajó como periodista en la revista El amigo del hogar y publicó por muchos años columnas en los periódicos El Nacional, El Heraldo y en nuestra casa El Impulso.

En 1986 fue nombrado director de la Academia Nacional de la Historia, un cargo que ocuparía hasta 1995.

Entre sus obras destacan títulos como El libro de la fe (1955), Los Cronistas y la Historia (1957), Los borradores de un meditador, (1958), Historia de Venezuela (1960), entre otros. Morón tiene en su haber un total de 20 libros que escribió desde 1955 hasta el último y más recientemente, Los imperios y el imperio, publicado en 2013.

Tras la inesperada noticia, varias fueron las reacciones que se dejaron sentir entre quienes compartieron con Morón, particularmente en esta casa editorial.

«Desde la familia Carmona y la familia de El Impulso sentimos muy de cerca la pérdida del doctor Guillermo Morón, quién durante toda su vida fue afecto entrañable de nuestros padres y abuelos. Fue articulista y colaborador de esta casa, dejando grandes pensamientos como tesoros de nuestras páginas y hasta el libro que conmemora el centenario de El Impulso, es de su autoría. Con un profundo respeto por su obra y su vida, enviamos nuestra condolencias a sus familiares y su gente en su Carora natal», expresó Gisela Carmona, directora de Elimpulso.com.

Por su parte, el exjefe de redacción de El Impulso, José Ángel Ocanto aseguró que «Sin duda, fue un héroe de la civilidad, en un país que sólo considera héroes a los de a caballo», en referencia al escritor.
