El excandidato presidencial indígena Yaku Pérez presentó este miércoles ante la Fiscalía General del Estado ecuatoriano una denuncia penal contra el mandatario Guillermo Lasso para que sea investigado por el caso de los papeles de Pandora.
La solicitud exige que el Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI) investigue los movimientos financieros de Lasso desde 2013, cuando fue candidato a la Presidencia por primera vez y no desde 2017 en que la ley fue reformada mediante referendo.
«Nos da vergüenza a los ecuatorianos tener al primer mandatario entre las primeras figuras de líderes mundiales de evasores de impuestos», enfatizó el excandidato en unas declaraciones que hizo a los medios antes de entregar su denuncia en la Fiscalía, en Quito.
Pérez fue el candidato que durante varias semanas disputó el segundo puesto del balotaje a Lasso, al considerar que se había producido fraude electoral en la primera vuelta de los comicios en febrero, reseña nota de EFE.
Finalmente, las autoridades electorales le dieron el pase a Lasso frente al ganador de la primera vuelta, Andrés Arauz, representante del correísmo (por el expresidente Rafael Correa), a quien acabó derrotando en abril.
Para Pérez, que desde entonces se ha retirado de la política, la Fiscalía General debe iniciar diligencias previas para obtener todo tipo de documentación que transparente el caso a nivel internacional, y pedir el apoyo de la Convención de Naciones Unidas Contra la Corrupción.
Asimismo, solicitar al Consorcio Internacional de Periodistas de Investigación (ICIJ), que publicó los papeles de Pandora el domingo, que entregue los detalles del caso particular de Lasso y de «otros líderes políticos y ejecutivos» ecuatorianos que, «con seguridad, estarán dentro de los paraísos fiscales», publica EFE.
