«Sangre Yoruba» forma parte de la serie «Great Performances» de PBS sobre las artes escénicas y se rodó en 2019 con un recorrido a través de la música por las ciudades brasileñas más influyentes: Río de Janeiro, Sao Paulo y Salvador, según un comunicado.
En el filme, Estefan, reconocida y popular voz de la banda Miami Sound Machine, analiza la historia de la samba y de sus múltiples variaciones.
El repaso lo realiza con célebres artistas regionales como Maria Rita, Carlinhos Brown y Jorge Aragão, precisa la productora.
«Sangre Yoruba», de 90 minutos de duración, analiza las raíces africanas de la música brasileña, así como sitios específicos que han inspirado a artistas de todo el mundo, incluidas la Bahía de Todos los Santos y la estatua del Cristo Redentor, precisa el comunicado.
