España enviará el próximo viernes dos aviones con un primer cargamento de armas para Ucrania, que incluye 1.370 lanzagranadas contra carros, 700.000 cartuchos para fusiles y ametralladoras, así como ametralladoras ligeras.
En una entrevista televisiva, la ministra de Defensa, Margarita Robles, detalló este primer envío, que llegará en dos aparatos a Polonia, a un punto muy cercano con la frontera de Ucrania, reseñó EFE.
El Gobierno español ha decidido enviar finalmente material militar ofensivo a Ucrania, además de su contribución a cargo del fondo común de la Unión Europea (UE), según anunció hoy en el Parlamento el jefe del Ejecutivo, el socialista Pedro Sánchez.
«España también entregará a la resistencia ucraniana material militar ofensivo», precisó Sánchez.
Hizo, además, una defensa de la actuación de la UE ante la invasión rusa de Ucrania: «A una amenaza europea, debemos dar una respuesta europea», concluyó.
Inicialmente España anunció que sólo enviaría material defensivo a Ucrania y el socio minoritario de la coalición de gobierno, el grupo izquierdista Unidas Podemos, se mostró reticente ante el envío de armas.
