El nuevo embajador de Colombia en Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, llegó la tarde de este domingo a Caracas para iniciar sus funciones como diplomático del gobierno del presidente Gustavo Petro.
A su llegada, de hecho, adelantó que muy posiblemente antes de finalizar este año, habría una reunión entre los presidentes de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, y Colombia, Gustavo Petro.
El embajador Benedetti llegó al aeropuerto Simón Bolívar en un vuelo charter proveniente de Bogotá, acompañado de su esposa y parte de su equipo de trabajo, reseña RCN.
Fue recibido por el viceministro para América Latina del gobierno de Nicolás Maduro, Rander Peña.
Durante su agenda en la capital venezolana, que se extenderá hasta el próximo martes, presentará credenciales ante el gobierno de ese país.
Sus objetivos prioritarios son el restablecimiento de las relaciones con Venezuela y la atención a los colombianos, tanto los residentes como quienes llegan al país hermano con fines de turismo.

Benedetti señaló también que una de las primeras tareas será habilitar los consulados colombianos en Caracas, Maracaibo y San Cristóbal, dentro de un proceso de restablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas, para luego recuperar las “comerciales, las sociales, culturales y del turismo”, publica Semana.
Explicó que llega a quedarse y que iniciará una agenda de trabajo, que tendrá como prioridad el restablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas y comerciales entre los dos países.
