La Vinotinto sufrió y ganó este sábado en su debut en la Copa América al doblegar 1-2 a Ecuador para sumar sus primeros tres puntos en el certamen.
El delantero ecuatoriano Jeremy Sarmiento, que cumplió 22 años el 16 de junio, le dio la ventaja a una selección de Ecuador que estuvo con diez hombres desde el minuto 22 por la expulsión de Enner Valencia luego de una jugada peligrosa en la que el árbitro colombiano Wilmar Roldán cambió la tarjeta amarilla por la roja tras consultar el VAR, reseñó EFE.
Pese al empuje de Venezuela, los dirigidos por el español Felix Sánchez consiguieron adelantarse en el marcador con un gol dentro del área de Sarmiento en el minuto 38.
Pero, con un juego agresivo y frontal en el segundo tiempo los ingresados en la Vinotinto, Jhonder Cádiz (m.64) y Eduard Bello (m.74), sellaron el triunfo para los dirigidos por Fernando Batista.
A segunda hora se enfrentarán México y Jamaica en Houston para completar la primera fecha del grupo B.
