El RAC, que precisa que ha recopilado cifras de la empresa Experian Catalis, estima que la subida de los precios de la gasolina «sumó 15 libras por pleno de un automóvil familiar» en un año.
Estos precios «afectarán a muchos hogares y, sin duda, repercutirán en la economía en su conjunto«, según un portavoz de la organización, citado en la nota, preocupado por la incesante subida del precio del crudo.
Los precios del petróleo rompieron el lunes nuevos récords de varios años tras las declaraciones del ministro de Energía de Arabia Saudita durante el fin de semana, que dejaron poco espacio para un aumento inminente en la oferta de los países de productores de petróleo, mientras hay un fuerte repunte de la demanda mundial.
El barril de WTI superó el lunes la marca de los 85 dólares (73 euros) por primera vez desde octubre de 2014 y el Brent tocó su último máximo en octubre de 2018, a 86,51 dólares (74,5 euros).
