El Papa homenajeó hoy a Benedicto XVI durante la ceremonia de entrega de los premios que llevan el nombre del pontífice emérito, Joseph Ratzinger, al que agradeció “su ejemplo de dedicación apasionada al estudio, la investigación” y que “siempre ha unido plena y armoniosamente su búsqueda cultural con su fe y su servicio a la Iglesia”.
“Un teólogo que supo abrir y alimentar su reflexión y su diálogo cultural hacia todas estas direcciones juntos, porque la fe y la Iglesia viven en nuestro tiempo y son amigas de toda búsqueda de la verdad. Hablo de Joseph Ratzinger”, dijo Francisco durante su discurso, reseñó EFE.
El papa quiso agradecerle su labor. “No olvidemos que Benedicto XVI continuó estudiando y escribiendo hasta el final de su pontificado. Hace unos diez años, mientras cumplía con sus responsabilidades de gobierno, estaba trabajando en completar su trilogía sobre Jesús y así dejarnos un testimonio personal único de su búsqueda constante del rostro del Señor”, dijo.
“Es la investigación más importante de todas, que luego continuó con la oración. Nos sentimos inspirados y alentados, y le aseguramos nuestro apoyo”, añadió, antes de referirse a su pontificado como “un magisterio luminoso y un amor indefectible a la Verdad”.
Francisco entregó hoy los galardones que otorga la fundación vaticana que lleva el nombre de Benedicto XVI a los profesores alemanes Hanna-Barbara Gerl-Falkovitz y Ludger Schwienhorst-Schönberger.
Gerl-Falkovitz es una destacada especialista en los estudios de Edith Stein y Romano Guardini, así como miembro de la Presidencia del Instituto Europeo de Filosofía y Religión de la Escuela Superior de Filosofía y Letras Benedikt XVI de Heiligenkreuz/Viena.
Schwienhorst-Schönberger enseña exégesis del Antiguo Testamento y Lengua Hebrea en la Universidad de Passau y en la Universidad de Viena. Se le considera uno de los principales expertos en los Libros de la Sabiduría y, en particular, en el Cantar de los Cantares.
