Dos semanas después de haber reiniciado sus operaciones para la producción de gasolina, dos incidentes ocurridos entre la madrugada y mañana del domingo en la refinería de Puerto La Cruz, en el estado Anzoátegui, dejó como resultado siete trabajadores heridos, cuatro de ellos con lesiones graves de quemaduras.
Según fuentes extraoficiales, el primer estallido ocurrió cerca de la 1:30 de la madrugada cuando cuatro operadores reparaban la terminal D2026 tras registrarse una falla eléctrica , lo que hizo que el regenerador de catalizador hidrógeno entrara en “candela”.
Los técnicos que se encuentran graves son Isvhant Calma y Julio Sifontes. La fuente señaló que ambos fueron auxiliados y llevados a quirófano por la gravedad de las quemaduras, mientras que Omar Matos y el otro afectado no sufrieron mayores daños.
A las 11:30 de la mañana ocurrió el segundo incidente en el que resultaron lesionados dos empleados con quemaduras de segundo grado y un tercero tuvo afectaciones en un ojo por virutas de catalizador.
Según el informante que prefirió mantenerse bajo anonimato, en este último hecho, presuntamente, resultaron detenidos por averiguaciones tres trabajadores, un operador y un superintendente.
“Eso ocurre porque hay problemas de electricidad en Puerto la Cruz y la carga eléctrica que se requiere no es suficiente lo cual hace una reacción y produce ese fogonazo”, detalló la fuente que precisó que los hechos sucedieron dentro de las instalaciones.
Hasta ahora, tanto autoridades locales como nacionales se han pronunciado para ofrecer información al respecto.
