No debería haber reglas especiales para Novak Djokovic en absoluto”, dijo Morrison en una conferencia de prensa tras presidir una reunión de dirigentes estatales sobre cómo hacer frente a los niveles récord de infecciones por COVID-19 en el país.

“Si bien el Gobierno (regional) de Victoria y Tenis Australia pueden permitir que un jugador no vacunado compita en el Abierto de Australia, es el Gobierno de Australia el que hará cumplir nuestros requisitos en la frontera australiana. Cualquier persona que quiera entrar a Australia debe cumplir con nuestros estrictos requerimientos fronterizos”, dijo Karen Andrews, ministra del Interior, en un comunicado.

Aquellos que no han recibido el esquema completo de la vacuna contra el COVID-19 deben demostrar ante las autoridades que no pueden recibir este fármaco por razones médicas para evitar, de ese modo, las cuarentenas de 14 días.
