Disney realizará bioserie de Karl Lagerfeld

El icónico y enigmático diseñador de moda Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019), tendrá una serie sobre su vida gracias a Disney, que anunció este martes la producción de Kaiser Karl.

Kaiser Karl profundizará en el mundo de Lagerfeld y en su personaje que, a pesar de alcanzar una inmensa popularidad, cultivó minuciosamente el misterio en muchas áreas de su vida, explicó la compañía.

Se trata de la primera serie dramática centrada en esta figura de la moda de origen alemán, pero de corazón francés. Su argumento se remonta al verano de 1972, un año antes de la muerte de la diseñadora francesa de mayor éxito, Coco Chanel, informó la plataforma.

Esta serie «arrojará luz sobre las casas de moda de lujo de los años 70» y también se sabrá «cómo Lagerfeld construyó una marca personal única que a veces fue polémica en un mundo donde las apariencias lo son todo«, detalló.

La obra se estrenará en la plataforma Disney+, dijo el presidente de The Walt Disney Company EMEA, Jan Koeppen, durante el festival Series Manía, que se celebra en Lille (norte de Francia) y reúne a los responsables políticos europeos y principales líderes de la industria audiovisual internacional.

«Kaiser Karl representa a la perfección el tipo de historias que queremos contar«, afirmó Koeppen, quien opinó que la vida de Lagerfeld no se ha contado como merece.

La serie constará con seis episodios que se rodarán en Francia y que producirá la empresa gala Gaumont, encargada de la creación de Lupin (2021), que logró convertirse en uno de los diez contenidos más vistos en Netflix en muchos países tras su lanzamiento.

Kaiser Karl está basada en el libro homónimo de la escritora y periodista francesa Raphaëlle Bacqué, que se incorpora al equipo creativo junto a otras mujeres guionistas del momento, como Isaure Pisani-Ferry y Jennifer Have.
