Cuando todos creíamos que habíamos superado la peor parte de la pandemia, entró una nueva variante, la P1 y la P2, con una realidad muy clara: más muertos, más contagios, y ha desnudado aún más la crisis del sistema de salud. Niveles de ocupación del 90 o más por ciento son las innegables señales de que el covid-19 nunca se fue, y ha vuelto de manera acelerada poniendo en peligro no solo a los contagiados sino a todos los enfermos que postergan por distintas razones sus tratamientos.
¿Se relajó la población? ¿Se necesitan otras estrategias para afinar identificación de contagiados para aislarlos? ¿Será que solo encerrando a la fuerza a toda la gente se controlará la covid-19? ¿O la vacuna es la solución? Si esta es la respuesta el costo final lo está asumiendo la población en general. Mientras algunos estamos clamando por una vacunación para todos, ante esta situación de emergencia que estamos viviendo, algunos en medio de su locura apuestan a politizar el tema. Que si es la vacuna A, que no que es la B, a sabiendas del daño que eso puede hacer.
La polarización extrema nuevamente se hace presente, pero esta vez con ribetes de una maldad sin precedentes, es la vida humana lo que está en juego Ya pasamos por esto de lo dañino que es la polarización, pero parece que es una lección no aprendida. Pensemos un poquito más en el país, y no en intereses personales y mezquinos, dejemos la diatriba, la soberbia y la arrogancia a un lado. Desde hace algunas semanas venimos escuchando a los médicos anunciar esta difícil etapa y pidiendo medidas más estrictas ante la indisciplina de muchos sectores de la población que parecen no creer lo que sí es una dolorosa realidad para muchas personas y familias enteras. Parecería que solo cuando alguien muy cercano cae víctima de este virus se acepta la dimensión de la tragedia que ya ha llegado a números increíbles, no solo en el mundo que siempre lo sentimos lejano, sino en nuestro país, en nuestro estado, en nuestra ciudad, en la cuadra en que vivimos y en la casa del frente.
Ya no se trata solo de adultos mayores. Igual de doloroso, lo más sorprendente es observar a una persona joven, llena de vida, caer en una cama dependiendo de un respirador y con un pronóstico que nadie puede asegurar ,a pesar del esfuerzo sobre humano que hacen nuestros médicos.
En síntesis, la única salida es la disciplina, esa que cuesta tanto asumir especialmente entre la gente joven que equivocadamente se creyó inmune, y la vacunación, esa que tanto nos está costando lograr por mezquinos intereses.
Llego la hora de poner a Venezuela por encima de todo, no más retrasos, es urgente.
