El director venezolano Domingo Hindoyan se pondrá al frente de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria en un programa que tendrá lugar en doble sesión el jueves 1° y el viernes 2 de julio en el Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, en Las Palmas.
El homenaje que se tributa al compositor francés Camille Saint-Saëns en ocasión del centenario de su muerte alcanzará un punto culminante con este concierto en el que el Maestro Hindoyan, en su retorno con la OFGC, dirigirá la grandiosa Sinfonía nº 3 «Con órgano», obra en la que el propio Saint-Saëns afirmaba haber dado de sí «todo aquello de lo que era capaz».
El programa se completa con «Mi madre la oca» de Maurice Ravel, suite inspirada en cuentos infantiles como La bella durmiente, Pulgarcito o La bella y la bestia y Jeu de cartes (Juego de cartas), refinada y lúdica partitura balletística del período neoclásico de Igor Stravinski, llena de sutilezas y guiños a Rossini, Ravel y Thaikovski, y donde se describe una inusual partida de cartas musical en tres manos.
Domingo Hindoyan disfruta una intensa carrera como director al frente de aclamados conjuntos y orquestas en todo el mundo, incluyendo instituciones como Metropolitan Opera (New York), Ópera Estatal de Viena, Deutsche Staatsoper de Berlín y Ópera Nacional de París, Lyric Opera de Chicago.
Fue designado hace un año Director Titular de la Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, cargo que asumirá en septiembre de 2021. Actualmente es también Principal Director Invitado de la Sinfónica de la Orquesta de la Radio Nacional Polaca.
