El lanzamiento de su nuevo disco, «Atlántico a pie», dejó al artista argentino Diego Torres con ansias de comenzar sus nuevos proyectos audiovisuales, que incluyen su regreso a la televisión, esta vez en formato de documental, además de varios planes en la actuación.
«Estoy muy emocionado con la idea de ofrecerle al público la historia detrás de este disco tan especial que representa mi mundo interior durante la pandemia», dijo el artista en una entrevista con EFE desde su hermosa casa en el cotizado barrio de Key Biscayne, situado en un pequeño cayo unido a la ciudad de Miami por una autopista sobre las aguas de la Bahía Vizcaína.
«Ahora que termine de darle los toques finales al documental, que estará disponible al público en una plataforma importante de ‘streaming’, voy a comenzar con los proyectos de actuación que he dejado a un lado mientras preparaba todo lo que tenía que ver con el disco», agregó Torres, quien tiene en su historia histriónica nueve películas de cine, tres obras de teatro y seis telenovelas.
«La actuación es una parte muy importante de mi expresión artística y estoy con muchas ganas de meterme en algún proyecto; claro, mientras pueda hacerse con todas las medidas de seguridad», destacó Torres, quien durante el confinamiento sintió que había perdido su «brújula personal».
Aunque sabe que fue una experiencia colectiva, el intérprete de éxitos como «Color esperanza» y «Tratar de estar mejor» consideró que «en el caso de los artistas, los referentes cambiaron y para nosotros que estábamos acostumbrados a vivir de avión en avión nos quedamos desorientados; tocó rearmar el día a día».
La creación de las siete canciones nuevas en «Atlántico a pie», así como el componente audiovisual del disco -que espera sacar en unos meses-, le permitieron anclarse profesionalmente y tener «una experiencia espectacular y única».
Un avión musical
Ante la ausencia de viajes en la vida real, Diego Torres decidió trasladarse a algunos de sus países favoritos con su música y llevar a su público con él.
«Atlántico a pie» cuenta con la participación de artistas brasileños como el dueto de reggae Natiruts y la cantautora Ivette Sangalo.
Asimismo, el francés Florent Pagny le acompañó en la canción «El rinconcito», una fusión romántica de charleston y jazz/cabaret en español y francés.
Colombia se manifiesta con la composición de Jorge Villamizar y las voces de Fonseca y Catalina García de Monsieur Periné, mientras que de España están Buika y Macaco.
El artista cubano estadounidense Rayko B. representa el contingente caribeño, además de la composición de la puertorriqueña Kany García y la producción del cubano Yadam González.
«La idea del viaje no fue algo consciente, pero sí quise experimentar fusionando elementos que usualmente no van juntos. Esas son justamente mis influencias. Están representados algunos de los sitios más importantes de mi vida», manifestó.
Una vida personal en movimiento
Sin embargo, el título de «Atlántico a pie» revela otro tipo de movimiento, ese más lento que realiza un hombre en el día a día.
«Con el título quise expresar eso: la forma en la que el tiempo se expandió cuando se detuvo la necesidad de siempre estar corriendo de un día a otro», expuso.
Aunque físicamente Diego Torres se quedó en casa en Miami y su avión profesional quedó varado, en lo personal su vida no dejó de moverse.
El artista se casó en diciembre de 2020 con Débora Bello, su compañera de los últimos 16 años. Este marzo cumplió 50 años y aprovechó el confinamiento para retomar su rutina de ejercicios, que incluye correr varias millas hasta llegar a la playa.
«Para mí, el mar es donde todo se limpia», indicó. No es sorpresa, entonces, que lleve más de una década viviendo cerca del océano, justo a las puertas del Atlántico.
Ahora se apresta para regresar a los escenarios, «cuando todo sea seguro para el público y podamos celebrar la música sanos». Su sueño es regresar a su natal Argentina y al resto de América Latina sin preocuparse por la salud.
