El presidente Nicolás Maduro informó la tarde de este viernes 20 de agostos, durante la juramentación del nuevo gabinete ministerial, que se detectó en Caricuao un caso de variante Delta del COVID-19.
«Hoy detectamos un caso de la variante delta en Caricuao», señaló el mandatario nacional.
Sin ofrecer mayores detalles, Maduro aseguró que la confirmación del caso ocurrió el día de hoy, por lo que pidió mantener las medidas de bioseguridad.
El mandatario nacional además señaló que el país debe estar preparado para el regreso a clases «bajo el método 7+7».
El pasado 1 de agosto el mandatario nacional también anunció que en las últimas semanas se detectaron cuatro nuevos casos de variante delta en Venezuela.
El 25 de julio fue la primera vez que el Ejecutivo nacional habló sobre casos de variante Delta en el país. En esa oportunidad el jefe de Estado precisó que se trataba de dos personas, un joven deportista que llegó de Turquía y una mujer de 56 años.
