Un Grupo Estructurado de Delincuencia Organizada (G.E.D.O) denominado «Los chanchitos», que mantenía en zozobra a los habitantes del sector Nueva República de El Tigre (Anzoátegui) y comunidades aledañas, fue desarticulado por funcionarios de la Policía del municipio Simón Rodríguez (Polisosir).
El director de este cuerpo de seguridad, comisionado agregado (PBANZ) Abg. Mario Díaz, informó que el procedimiento se concretó atendiendo el llamado realizado por habitantes de la mencionada comunidad, y en trabajo en conjunto con la Contraloría Social de la zona.
Detalló que uniformados de la Dirección de Investigaciones y Procedimientos Policiales lograron capturar a 6 personas entre ellas una joven, quienes presuntamente utilizaban una vivienda abandonada del sector para ocultar los objetos robados.
En una nota de prensa de Polisosir, Díaz señala que el grupo delictivo estaba conformado por adolescentes de entre 15 y 17 años de edad. «Solo Osmer José Flores posee la mayoría de edad, siendo conocido esté como el soldado», se lee en el texto.
Los infractores que robaban transeúntes y hurtaban viviendas, son apodados como «manuelito», «catire», «la flaca» y «el dengue» todos ellos de 17 años, mientras que «el chancito«», de 15 años, es quien lideraba el G.E.D.O., agrega la información.
«A este grupo y durante las labores de rastreo que se realizó en la vivienda donde se ocultaban, se les incautaron dos armas de fabricación rudimentaria tipo escopetín, un arma de fabricación rudimentaria tipo pistola, así como dos chalecos antibala de fabricación artesanal».
