Cuba prohibió el martes una marcha opositora prevista para el 15 de noviembre, denunciando una «provocación», y dijo que sus promotores tienen vínculos con Washington para impulsar un cambio de régimen en la isla, según una comunicación oficial.
«Los promotores y sus proyecciones públicas, así como los vínculos de algunos con organizaciones subversivas o agencias financiadas por el gobierno estadounidense, tienen la intención manifiesta de promover un cambio de sistema político en Cuba», señala la respuesta a un petitorio para realizar esa marcha publicado en el sitio oficial, reseñó AFP.
La manifestación anunciada en La Habana, «cuyo esquema organizativo se concibe simultáneo para otros territorios del país, constituye una provocación como parte de la estrategia de cambio del régimen» para Cuba, añade la respuesta que destaca el carácter constitucional e «irrevocable» del sistema socialista cubano.
La misma respuesta se dio tanto en La Habana como en las otras seis (de 15) provincias de la isla (Holguín, Cienfuegos, Pinar del Río, Las Tunas, Santa Clara y Guantánamo) donde se había solicitado autorización para una manifestación «contra la violencia» y por el «cambio».
La convocatoria para la marcha, lanzada en septiembre, se reprodujo en las redes sociales apelando al artículo 56 de la nueva Constitución, aprobada en 2019, que reconoce el derecho a la reunión, manifestación y asociación con fines lícitos y pacíficos.
Pero «el ejercicio de los derechos de las personas solo está limitado por los derechos de los demás, la seguridad colectiva, el bienestar general, el respeto al orden público, a la Constitución y a las leyes», refutó la autoridad.
«Manifestarse es un derecho»
La incertidumbre sobre la marcha se mantiene a la espera de la decisión que tomará la oposición respecto al llamado a manifestarse.
Preguntado en La Habana por lo que iba a hacer ahora que la protesta quedó prohibida, el dramaturgo Yunior García dijo que van «a consultar a los miembros de Archipiélago (grupo opositor que organiza la manifestación), vamos a tener una reunión» para decidir el camino a seguir.
«Manifestarse es un derecho, nos dijeron que no van a respetar ese derecho a pesar de que sea un derecho humano y a pesar de que está en la Constitución, nos han dicho que es ilícita nuestra solicitud», declaró García al salir de una reunión con las autoridades.
García, organizador de la manifestación en la capital y líder de Archipiélago, lamentó las acusaciones sobre financiamiento de Estados Unidos.
«Siempre cualquier cosa que el cubano haga, van a decir que se le ocurrió a alguien en Washington, es como si no pensáramos, no tenemos cerebro los cubanos».
«Cualquier cubano sensato quiere cambio para bien, cualquier cubano sensato quiere que en Cuba haya más democracia, que haya más progreso, que haya más libertad, en todos los sentidos», añadió.
El gobierno cubano, que niega la existencia de presos políticos en Cuba, considera como ilegal a la oposición que acusa de estar financiada por Washington.
Crisis económica
Inicialmente, Archipiélago había convocado a la marcha para el 20 de noviembre, pero el viernes anunció que la adelantaría para el día 15 debido a que el gobierno decidió la semana pasada declarar esa misma jornada el «Día Nacional de la Defensa».
«Nosotros no queremos violencia, no queremos que los cubanos se enfrenten y no podíamos lanzar a los manifestantes a enfrentarse con un ejército en la calle que podía reaccionar de forma violenta», dijo García.
Lo «más sensato era adelantar la marcha» al día 15, cuando está previsto que Cuba reabra al turismo internacional. Los visitantes podrán andar por las calles de la isla y los cubanos pueden entonces ejercer sus derechos, añadió.
El antecedente de la marcha está en las inéditas protestas del 11 y 12 de julio en medio centenar de ciudades cubanas, que dejaron un muerto, decenas de heridos y centenares de detenidos.
Estas manifestaciones espontáneas, sin precedentes desde el triunfo de la revolución de 1959, se produjeron al grito de «Tenemos hambre», «Abajo la dictadura» y «Libertad», en el marco de una severa crisis económica, la peor en 30 años.
Desde entonces, varias personalidades disidentes han sido detenidas, como José Daniel Ferrer y Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, que están encarcelados desde el 11 de julio. Otros opositores como Manuel Cuesta Morua, Guillermo Fariñas y Berta Soler fueron puestos en libertad a las pocas horas de sus arrestos, tras ser advertidos de su convocatoria de manifestación.
