«Son vulnerables porque se encuentran envejeciendo en una situación de precariedad», dijo en entrevista concedida al programa Dos más Dos que transmite Unión Radio.
Calificó como «alarmante» los 102 fallecimientos violentos de adultos mayores registrados por la ONG desde enero hasta junio del 2021.
«Nos debe llamar a la reflexión», dijo al sostener que estás cifras han sido recurrente en los último cinco años. «En la mayoría de los casos estas muertes ocurrieron teniendo como móvil el robo».
Señaló que en el reciente estudio presentado por Convite se evidenció que un porcentaje importante de los robos en los que las personas mayores perdieron la vida «ocurrieron es sus propias casas».
