Cinco niños de nacionalidad hondureña fueron hallados por agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza en el sector de Del Río (Texas) viajando sin sus padres o un representante junto a otros inmigrantes y portando notas escritas a mano con los teléfonos de sus parientes en EEUU o sus certificados de nacimiento.
Así lo informó este jueves la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP, en inglés) en un comunicado, que también detalló que los pequeños fueron descubiertos el miércoles, reseñó EFE.
Los oficiales encontraron primero a 27 inmigrantes que ingresaron de forma irregular al país, entre ellos tres pequeños: una niña de cinco años que cuidaba de su primo de un año y un niño de cinco años que viajaba solo.
“Los niños tenían notas escritas a mano con los números telefónicos de sus familiares en Estados Unidos. Un niño tenía una copia de su certificado de nacimiento”, detalló la CBP.
Otros dos hermanos, de 9 y 7 años, fueron hallados horas después como parte de otro grupo de migrantes, esta vez conformado por cinco personas. Ambos tenían información de contacto de sus parientes en el país y sus certificados de nacimiento.
Los niños, de nacionalidad hondureña, serán “procesados de acuerdo” con las políticas de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de EEUU.
Este jueves se conoció que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos dio albergue a más de 122.000 menores de edad que llegaron sin compañía de alguno de sus padres o tutor legal en el período fiscal 2021, una cifra sin precedentes
Según la cadena CBS, esos menores fueron transferidos al cuidado del Departamento de Salud.
La versión detalló que unos 147.000 menores de 18 años de edad llegaron la frontera de México con Estados Unidos en el período fiscal que comenzó el 1 de octubre de 2020 y concluyó el pasado 30 de septiembre.
