Compra un boleto de lotería equivocado y gana 50 mil dólares

Comprar la lotería, un raspadito u otras apuestas deportivas por Internet; todos hemos querido probar suerte y soñar con que nos toque una pizquita de dinero que nos haga la vida mucho más fácil. Ahora bien, hay veces que hay que dar un ‘empujoncito’ a la suerte para que nos sonría.

Más o menos es eso lo que le ha pasado a una mujer de 43 años del estado de Maryland, Estados Unidos, que ha ganado un premio de 50.000 dólares en la lotería estatal gracias a un desliz de su mano que cometió al momento de comprar un boleto en la máquina expendedora de autoservicio.

Según declaró la ganadora a los responsables de la Lotería de Maryland, fue a comprar uno de los juegos raspa y gana de US$20 en una máquina expendedora de lotería de autoservicio, pero presionó el botón equivocado y terminó con un juego de crucigramas Deluxe de US$5 en su lugar.

Error con premio

“Maldije cuando salió ese boleto”, dijo la ganadora, quien eligió el alias “Ganadora por defecto” debido a su error. “Normalmente ni siquiera me gustan los juegos de crucigramas, pero este funcionó”.

A regañadientes, la mujer tomó el boleto y se fue a su casa para rasparlo. La madre soltera de tres hijos se sentó y comenzó el proceso de revelar las palabras en su boleto de crucigrama. Después de raspar todo el boleto, creyó que había ganado algo y leyó las instrucciones para confirmarlo.

Aún sin estar segura, decidió escanear el boleto usando la aplicación de la lotería en su teléfono. Se sorprendió por el mensaje que le devolvía la mirada: “Felicitaciones, ganador de US$50,000″.

Invertirlo en su casa

“Fue increíble”, dijo. “Pensé que algo andaba mal con la aplicación, así que la escaneé de nuevo”. Efectivamente, apareció el mismo mensaje. Después de saltar y gritar, la gran ganadora llamó a sus hijos para compartir la noticia.

“Dejé el boleto en el mostrador y lo volví a escanear para que pudieran ver el mensaje ganador”, dijo la ganadora, que trabaja como gerente de servicio para una empresa. “No podían creer que fuera real”.

Más tarde, la afortunada jugadora concertó una cita para reclamar su premio en la sede de la lotería. Compartió con los funcionarios que acaba de comprar una nueva casa y planea usar algunas de las ganancias para renovaciones. Ella planea poner el resto en el banco.
